'Land Exchange' 2009 - Digital prints documenting performance - W80 X H60cm

On the cliffs of Dover there is a small plot of French soil that I collected from France and deposited there. I planted a fleur-de-lys (or Lily) - France's national flower in the soil to mark the spot. In Calais there is an equally small plot of British soil dug up from Dover in which I planted a small red rose bush to mark the spot. This subtle dislodging of land questions notions of nationality and territory.
